Big Cypress Gallery Fall Festival - 2019

Once a year, Big Cypress Gallery and South Florida National Parks Trust join together for the Fall Festival at our gallery. The Fall Festival is a celebration of our National Parks by giving swamp walks and donating the money from those walks to the Educational Department of Big Cypress National Preserve's Swamp Water And Me Program (SWAMP). This is our fifth year enjoying the National Park Rangers, the South Florida National Parks Trust, and the folks who join us in the walks, all who love the swamp and love sharing that love with others.

Once again, we thank everyone for making the Fall Festival such a fantastic event. You helped us raise $11,500 to support the educational department of Big Cypress National Preserve's Swamp Water and Me Program, which brings thousands of students each year into the Big Cypress National Preserve for a day hands-on-learning. Also, thank you to South Florida National Parks Trust for organizing this event.

~ Swamp Walks ~

I snuck out of the gallery and spent a few hours in the swamp photographing folks and enjoying the peace of nature. It was so beautiful I almost didn’t go back to the gallery!.

As I reluctantly stepped out of the swamp, I was joined with a group that had been ahead of me. We all got our photograph together. What a wonderful day it was to share what I love with people who have never experienced the swamp.

We had a wonderful guest artist at this event, RL Lewis, Highwayman Painter, along with his son. It was great to hear their stories and enjoy them for the weekend.
